Real School Culture Partnership

The Real Schools Restorative 2.0 approach at Lockwood PS (in partnership with Real
Schools), is a proactive and inclusive framework designed to foster a positive culture
promoting student accountability to ‘clean up their own mess’. At the heart of conflict
resolution, is the P3P3F3 process enabling all students to voice ‘what happened?’, ‘how
does it make you feel?’ & ‘what commitment will you make so this behaviour doesn’t happen
again?’. By focusing on the impact of the behaviour rather than just making blame, affective
language cultivates empathy and understanding, paving the way to restore relationships.

Student/Staff-Teacher Relationships

Restorative Practices strengthens teacher/staff-student relationships in the learning
environment whereby learning can deepen as a result of healthy and robust relationships. By
focusing on the present and future using affective language, a growth mindset and
consistent conduct, students are equipped with the skills to be accountable and independent
which are essential skills for strong and resilient adults.

Parents as Partners

At Lockwood Primary, parent engagement and communication are a high priority. By
providing families with the necessary tools and knowledge, our aim is to create a
collaborative and supportive culture so that every student’s learning journey is supported by
school and home.
Restorative Practice 2.0 complements our whole-school wellbeing approach; including
Respectful Relationships, the Resilience Project and School-Wide Positive Behaviour
Supports (SWPBS) – all of which work together to strengthen and align with our Restorative
Practices approach, helping us build a school community where everyone feels safe, heard
and respected.
