At Lockwood Primary, all students participate in 1 hour of Physical Education each week with
our specialist PE teacher, Mrs Rees. Our program focuses on developing confidence,
coordination and physical literacy through engaging individual and group learning tasks. We
emphasise our school values and provide a supportive, encouraging learning environment.

Foundation  Year 2

Students participate in activities and games designed to develop their fundamental motor
skills (FMS). They also explore how physical activity supports their health and learn to
cooperate in group situations, follow rules and practise fair play.

Years 3 – 6

Students extend their motor skills, learn to collaborate effectively and prepare for team
games and sports. They develop an understanding of the link between physical activity,
health, fitness and positive wellbeing. Students explore summer and winter sports in
preparation for Interschool Sport in Years 5 and 6.
